Functional Nutrition

Food is nature's medicine and powers every cell in your body

Functional Nutrition often plays a large role in health coaching while exploring the root causes of common health conditions. Our bodies need fuel to metabolize and generate energy for us to complete everything we do during the day, including breathing, activity, and thinking… and even to sleep efficiently when the day is over. The source for that fuel is a combination of all the nutrients consumed each day.

What we consume matters! Partnering with a person certified in functional nutrition is like having a support system alongside, to help you to understand how your food intake and body are behaving synergistically.

Frequently asked questions

Functional Nutrition is one of the key foundational elements in the Functional Medicine approach to optimal health. Functional Nutrition explores the use of food, dietary patterns, targeted supplements, and bio-individuality to improve a person’s overall health and wellness.

We use a science-based approach to find root causes for body system imbalances that are manifesting as certain health conditions.

A Functional Nutrition Coach will work with a client to review food intake, nutrient consumption (not all food is equally nutritious), lifestyle habits and environment to reduce symptoms, improve health and restore your mind-body balance. We use a variety of tools and techniques to help you achieve your health goals. The practices and methods that we implement will empower you to take charge of your health and provide positive long-lasting results.

We do not act as Registered Dieticians. We do not prescribe a specific diet plan and we do not diagnose medical conditions or eating disorders. We do not prescribe a pill to remove symptoms and neglect to address the root cause.
